Grimm Has Democratic Seatmate for President’s ‘State of Union’ Speech
BAY RIDGE— Maybe the country’s two political parties can work together in Congress after all.
In a move toward bipartisanship, U.S. Rep. Michael Grimm, a Republican-Conservative, and U.S. Rep. Loretta Sanchez, a Democrat, jointly announced that they will sit together in the House chamber during President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address on Jan. 24.
Democrats usually sit with fellow Democrats and Republicans have GOP seatmates during the annual State of the Union Address.
