The winners of the 18th annual Greenest Block in Brooklyn Contest were announced this week by GreenBridge, the community horticulture program of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and Borough President Marty Markowitz. Lincoln Road between Bedford and Rogers avenues in Prospect-Lefferts-Gardens (seen here), which also won the 2009 contest, was named the champion residential block. The two winning commercial blocks were Cortelyou Road between Westminster Road and Argyle Road in Ditmas Park, and Newkirk Plaza between Newkirk and Foster avenues. More than 200 block associations participated this year.
