The second annual BAM Ignite Gala celebrated the expansion of Brooklyn Academy of Music’s (BAM’s) education programming on June 30, raising $850,000 in funds and awareness to ensure their continued impact in the community. The gala featured guest speaker Emmy and Peabody Award-winner John Hockenberry, as well as Brooklyn Youth Chorus and the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music student jazz quartet. Currently, BAM Education’s programs serve more than 30,000 students, teachers, and parents annually. Ignite campaign co-chairs Lucy Liu and Richard Feldman joined gala co-chairs Alan Fishman and Michael Roth, BAM President Karen Brooks Hopkins and BAM Executive Producer Joseph Melillo to honor BAM trustee Bob Greenberg, founder, Chairman & CEO, R/GA, for his support of BAM’s mission to provide exceptional arts education programming.
