It’s pumpkin time!

Richard Maxwell, left, Doug Johnson, center, and Mary Johnson are hard at work, but enjoying themselves at the same time as they decorate pumpkins at the annual Harvest Festival on Shore Road. The festival, held on a recent weekend, is sponsored by the Narrows Botanical Gardens each year and features a wide variety of activities for kids. One of the highlights of the day was a canine costume contest in which residents put their dogs in cute costumes and brought them to the park. Narrows Botanical Gardens, open seven days a week, is located in Shore Road Park at 70th Street.
