The Kings County Criminal Bar Association met at the Brooklyn Bar Association building on Remsen Street in Brooklyn Heights on Thursday night, but it wasn’t the typical event with big speeches or lectures. Instead it was a simple gathering to celebrate the holidays with food, drink and pleasant atmosphere.

“Usually when we get together it’s a CLE or an academic lecture, so it’s nice to have everyone here, prosecutors, defense attorneys and judges, in a room together just enjoying each other’s company rather than for a required event,” Jay Schwitzman, president of the KCCBA, told the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. “No speeches tonight. Instead it’s a social function where adversaries can get together to blow off a little steam and celebrate each other’s hard work.”

The KCCBA will host its next CLE program on Jan. 16, 2014.
