Ky-Mani Marley set the audience on fire on Thursday, debuting this summer's free lunchtime concert series on the MetroTech commons. The youngest of reggae legend Bob Marley’s sons, Ky-Mani attracted a huge crowd in spite of the near-100 degree temperature.
The audience, many wearing Jamaican and other Caribbean colors, moved with the sound as Marley performed tributes to his father along with new hip-hop-influenced music. The BAM-sponsored R&B series continues every Thursday through Aug. 9. Next week’s show features funk-punk-metal-ska septet Fishbone.
