According to CBS New York, The American Atheists billboard that was supposed to go up on Monday on top of a building on South Fifth Street near the Williamsburg Bridge was instead put up at an alternate site near the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. The owner of the original site refused to allow the billboard to go up. The billboard, in Hebrew and English, is aimed at nonbelievers in the community who are afraid to express themselves, says, “You know it’s a myth. … and you have a choice.” Dave Silverman, head of American Atheists, called the building owner and religious leaders from the Williamsburg Hadisic community “anti-atheist bigots.”
