MANHATTAN — The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) will vote on calendaring the proposed Bedford Historic District on Tuesday, May 15. The hearing, which will take place in the 9th floor conference room at 1 Centre St. in Manhattan, begins at 9 a.m.; the vote on calendaring will take place at approximately 11 a.m.

The residents of Bedford-Stuyvesant are overwhelmingly in favor of the designation, according to Claudette Brady of the Bedford-Stuyvesant Society for Historic Preservation. They are also looking forward to the swift consideration and designation of additional districts within greater Bedford-Stuyvesant, including Stuyvesant East, Stuyvesant North and Stuyvesant West, she wrote in an email to the Eagle.
