Library offers program on farming in Brooklyn

“Farming: A Growing Industry in Brooklyn” is the title of a workshop planned for Tuesday, Sept. 25, and sponsored by the Brooklyn Public Library.

Moderated by  Joan Bartolomeo, president of the  Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation, the featured panelists will include the following:

• Roland Chouloute, deputy director of the NYC Green Thumb Community Gardens;

• Brian C. Coleman, CEO of the Greenpoint Manufacturing and Design Center;

• Annie Novak, co-founder of the Eagle Street Rooftop Farm and director of Growing Chefs; and

• Anastasia Cole Plakias, co-founder and director of communications for the Brooklyn Grange.

Scheduled to take place from 6 to  7:30 p.m., the event will be held in the Trustees Room at the BPL’s Central Library, 10 Grand Army Plaza.
