Brooklyn is also known for others legal groups, such as the Brooklyn Columbian Lawyers Association, headed this year by the charismatic Bruno Codispoti, there with his family and other Columbians including Rose Ann C. Branda, Robert Musso and Larry DiGiovanna, who has the distinction of having served as the president of the BBA and President of the Bay Ridge Lawyers Assn.

There are some really popular holiday gatherings coming up, such as the Bay Ridge Lawyers gala set for Dec.19 at the posh Dyker Heights Golf Course, Seventh Avenue and 86th Street starting at 6 p.m.

Holiday party committee leader is Mary Ann K. Stathopoulos. BRLA Judiciary Chair Ray Ferrier, past president, always lends an experienced hand at these events on behalf of the BRLA, which is headed this year by President Pasqualino Russo.
Other noted BRLA barristers such as Past Presidents Sam Hagan, Tom Tafuri, Andrea Bonina, Anthony Lamberti, Steve Chiaino, Rosa Panitto, Hon. K. Lai and Boris Zivitov. BRLA member and Kings Catholic Lawyers Guild President Sara Gozo reminded us of her organization’s Annual Christmas Cocktail Party taking place Dec. 18 at 4:30 p.m.

According to tradition, this event starts at 4:30 p.m. in Columbus Park (in front of 360 Adams St.) after which members and guests stroll across Court Street to the St. Francis College Callahan Center, 180 Remsen St.

Since I’ll be on vacation in California, my “partner” Marc Hibsher promises to “cover” Sara’s party – across the street from the Eagle’s Court Street office — and then, the following night, to make merry when the Bay Ridge Lawyers gather at the Dyker Golf Course! President Russo and Judiciary Chair Ferrier will make sure he has a good time!

Well have a lot more to say – in subsequent columns — about the BBA gathering and these events where lawyers and jurists get together to celebrate and recognize the good works of their organizations. After all, our job here at PBB is to ‘tell about the good that lawyers do.” Been doing just that for almost 13 years! Stay tuned and have great New Year!
