There's a lonely little townhouse at 10 Coffey St., surrounded by vacant lots.
But before you know it, the lost-looking building will have a spiffy new next-door neighbor at 20 Coffey St.
That's where two brothers who are Parsons School of Design alums are building a new home for their business, Seetin Design Group, which fabricates high-end decorative metals, architectural metals and millwork.
They've been doing their thing in Williamsburg for 15 years – but decided Sandy wouldn't stop them from relocating to Red Hook.
“Hurricane Sandy scared us but that made us realize we need a stronger foundation,” said Robert Seetin, who owns the company with sibling John-Tom.
Their new three-story building will have “a super strong grade beam and piles” – plus a stronger foundation, flood vents on the walls and a 10-ton overhead bridge crane to lift up factory equipment if there's a threat of flooding.
