DYKER HEIGHTS — Mothers and daughters enjoyed an afternoon filled with fabulous food and shopping as St. Bernadette School held its annual Mother/Daughter Tea and Spree.

Tables were decorated with shades of pink and cupcakes were everywhere. Moms and their daughters spent the afternoon playing games, shopping and enjoying time together.

The event served as a prelude to Catholic Schools Week, to be celebrated with various events from Jan. 29 through Feb. 4.

The festivities at St. Bernadette begin with an Open House on Sunday, Jan. 29, featuring a Wax Museum created by students in the cafeteria. On Monday, Jan. 30, qualifying students will take part in the annual Spelling Bee, while the entire school enjoys a “Blue and Gold” dress-down day. A mother and daughter share a moment.

Tuesday, Jan. 31, is “Get Up and Move Day.” Students are encouraged to wear loose-fitting pajamas and sneakers to participate in “workouts” throughout the day. The following day will be a red-white-and-blue dress-down day and eighth-graders will receive their class rings.

There will be another Open House on Thursday and Friday will be “Teacher Appreciation Day” with a noon dismissal.
