Hotel BPM Named for ‘Beats Per Minute;’

Offers Music Streaming Throughout

SUNSET PARK — Although its official opening is not until May 14, the new Hotel BPM Brooklyn, described as “a music-inspired property,” had a sneak-peek opening recently.

With its prominent musical features, it is said to be the first hotel of its kind in the U.S.

Named for the pace count of a song, “beats per minute,” and conceptualized by hip-hop disc jockey DJ BIJAL, founder, the boutique hotel is at 139 33rd St., between Third and Fourth avenues in Sunset Park.

It has 76 guest rooms and fully licensed music streaming throughout its public areas and guest rooms — compiled by DJ BIJAL — as well as volume-controlled speakers in guest room bathrooms. Another unique musical feature is the opportunity for guests to make song or artist requests at the time of makingtheir  reservationsl.

The 76 rooms feature a modern décor and Wi-Fi, and bathrooms offer environmentally friendly Gilchrist & Soames BeeKind bath products.

Launched by DJ BIJAL recently announced its presence during the popular  a nine-day event highlighting key relationships, ideas and products that relate to the music industry. The new hotel “brings the two worlds of music and hospitality together, right in the heart of Brooklyn,” said DJ BIJAL,  and provides the music industry with continued support from key sponsorships and alliances. Most recently, for the 54th Annual Grammy gift bags, the hotel gave away 175 custom-made vouchers for overnight accommodations.

And Hotel BPM Brooklyn will be a sponsor of the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Conference & Festival in Austin, Texas.

“We could not be more excited to partner with the Super 7 SXSW event and support the world of music,” he said. “As a DJ, I’ve had the opportunity to travel often. This hotel is the culmination of the best hotels I visited when I was on the road.”

Hotel BPM will offer king and double-room categories, starting at $139 per room per night as a grand-opening rate.

A lounge with tables and banquette seating, located just off the lobby, will serve Continental breakfast daily as well as beverages and light fare at other times. A fitness room and guest parking are also available on site.
