Bay Ridge — March is Women’s History Month and state Sen. Marty Golden is marking the celebration by presenting awards to local women who have made a difference in the community.

Golden will celebrate the accomplishments of nine women he has deemed extraordinary at an event to be held at the Shore Hill Community Room, 9000 Shore Road, on Thursday, March 8, at 7 p.m.

At the event, Golden will recognize the following women: Linda Addonisio, principal of  St. Anselm Elementary School; Dr. Lisa Eng of the Kings County Medical Society; Elizabeth Ferraro, a parishioner of St. Finbar Church; Kathy Khatari, a leader in Bay Ridge’s Middle Eastern community; Sara Nespoli, director of faith formation for the Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn; Camille Loccisano, founder of the Francesco Loccisano Foundation; Sister Fran Piccone of the Shore Hill Senior Program; Mary Quinones, vice president of Lutheran Medical Center; and Elena Solitario, owner of Pilo Arts Day Spa and Salon.

“Each and every day, these women to be honored make a true difference in our community. It is their involvement that has made our community the great place it is to live, work and raise a family,” Golden said. “I look forward to paying tribute to all that these women have done in their lives. Their resumes should be an inspiration to all of us.”
