Registration Via Online Lottery

The NYC Parks Experience Summer Day Camp program is an incredible deal offered by the city’s Parks Department: just $500 per child for the whole summer. Children engage in sports, fitness and outdoor adventure and take part in many of New York City’s rich cultural and educational opportunities. Campers will hike through local parks, learn to play sports, swim in Parks’ pools, travel to museums, engage in environmental education and participate in a wide variety of structured activities.

The program begins July 9, 2012, and will end August 24, 2012. Day camps operate weekdays only. Children must be between the ages of 6 and 13 by the start of the program. The only exception is Raymond O’Connor Park, which offers a summer camp program (with no trips or swimming) for children ages 3 to 6½ on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Pay Attention to Registration Dates!

Registration begins at 9 a.m. Friday, March 9, and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 12. The registration will be conducted through an online lottery. Visit www.nycgovparks.org/registration/summercamp/ to get the latest registration information.
Staff will be available during designated hours to assist with registration at park centers. After the lottery ends and slots are filled, any remaining slots will be available for online registration on a first-come, first-served basis.

The NYC Parks Experience is one of the most affordable summer day camp options available. Though the city does not offer any financial assistance or sibling discounts, they do offer a three-part payment plan.
