Red Mango, a fast-growing retailer of frozen yogurt and fresh fruit smoothies, is expanding in Brooklyn.

Franchise owner Rahman Hashimi recently signed a development agreement to open his first Red Mango at 1223 Surf Ave. in Coney Island.

Hashimi, who owns seven Popeyes in New York and Connecticut, is slated to open what will be a co-branded Red Mango and Johnny Rockets restaurant in an 8,000-square-foot space.

“As a multi-brand franchise owner, I have developed a winning formula for discovering successful franchise opportunities,” said Hashimi. Red Mango stood out to me because its products are healthy yet tasty, flavorful and delicious.”

He added, “Red Mango products are ideal for a fun day at Coney Island. Whether people are relaxing at the beach or riding the Cyclone, Red Mango treats are the perfect complement to the day.”

With more than 60 stores open in the Greater New York City area, an additional 25 sites in development, and a No. 1 Zagat rating, Red Mango will continue to attract.

It can boast offerings of all-natural fruit and yogurt parfaits, smoothies and more than 50 flavors of low-cal frozen yogurt — each four-ounce yogurt serving is around 100 calories and is packed with probiotics.
