This past weekend, 2,213 residents of Council member Brad Lander’s district voted in an unusual election that let community members decide which projects to fund. Out of 20 projects proposed by neighborhood residents, voters selected these seven: bathroom renovations for P.S.124, a compost system near the Gowanus Canal, planting 100 new street trees, the purchase of Smartboards and Macbook computers for P.S. 154, repairs to Prospect Park pathways, repairs to the Prospect Expressway pedestrian crossing at Church Avenue, and new books and DVDs for the Kensington Library.
