Brooklyn residents and business owners who have questions or need assistance with insurance claims related to Hurricane Sandy are invited to a free seminar in Gerritsen Beach.

On Friday, March 29, insurance claim advocates at Price Law Group will host two free "How to Maximize the Value of Your Property Insurance Claim" seminars, designed for policyholders at every stage of the insurance claim process.

Both sessions — 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. — will be held at the Ancient Order of Hibernians, 2750 Gerritsen Ave., Brooklyn. They will be led by licensed insurance adjuster Lee Corey, who will discuss the various issues facing property owners as they navigate the insurance claim process in the wake of the largest Atlantic hurricane ever recorded.

Corey will discuss how to reopen an insurance claim even after cashing a settlement check; what an insurance company’s adjuster may be missing (or choosing to overlook) in determining the value of your damages and; how to protect yourself against negligence or predatory behavior on the part of an insurance provider.
