Jazz will be heard in Owl’s Head Park's Overlook on Saturday, Sept. 8, at noon. The concert, co-sponsored by the Neighborhood Improvement Association Community Services Network and Councilman Vincent Gentile, will feature the Alex Violette Ensemble.
The Overlook which underwent a renovation by the city a few years ago. Enter the park on Colonial Road and 68th Street.
“I remember looking out at that million dollar view of the Narrows a few years ago and thinking what a perfect spot this would be for performances and events,” Gentile said.
“Now with newly paved pathways, benches, fencing and landscaping, the Owl’s Head Park Overlook is the destination spot for families to enjoy beautiful weather, scenery and cultural performances sponsored by the Bay Ridge Arts and Culture Alliance. That’s why I was so proud to secure nearly $1.4 million for the renovation of Owl’s Head Park Overlook and its 70-plus year old terrace and I hope everyone will help me kick-off this season with a little jazz in the park!” he said.
