Sea Gate, a Brooklyn neighborhood devastated by Hurricane Sandy, has spent over two decades waiting for storm protection, according to a story in Tuesday’s Observer. From 1972 – when the Army Corps of Engineers proposed a 15-foot seawall – to this year’s government project to reinforce the beaches, all were too late for Hurricane Sandy.
