A 25-year-old Brooklyn man is dead after being hit by two cars consecutively early Wednesday morning while trying to cross Rochester Avenue at Eastern Parkway on his skateboard, according to the Daily News. Drivers of both vehicles fled the scene and are still at large.

Josh Thorne was hit by a northbound minivan at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning while trying to cross a gap in Eastern Parkway’s pedestrian walkway on the crosswalk at Rochester Avenue. He was propelled by the collision into the middle of Eastern Parkway, where he was struck again moments later by a white Honda or Acura sedan heading east.

According to a witness who spoke to the News, Thorne was apparently still conscious after the first collision but was left motionless by the second.

"He was moving at first, but when the second car rolled over him, he stopped moving. He was completely still," he said.

Thorne was rushed to the Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are looking for the drivers of the minivan and the white sedan and anyone with any information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
