Visitors to the area around the Surrogate’s Court and Johnson Street in Downtown Brooklyn were puzzled Tuesday to find workers clearing away a fresh layer of snow – the only snow on the ground in Brooklyn. The precipitation was not the result of a bizarre microclimate, but rather the leftovers from a Monday night film shoot. A worker said that the KFX special effects company had created piles of artificial snow with ice chippers for the production, which was unrelated to another movie (tentatively titled “Low Life”) by director James Gray being filmed on Montague Street Tuesday.
