BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Thousands of children are expected to descend upon Brooklyn Bridge Park to celebrate the start of spring at the seventh annual Spring Fling on March 31 from 10:30 a.m. — 1 p.m., sponsored by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy in partnership with Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The event will feature musical performances by AudraRox and The Wiyos, storytelling, face painting, and yoga with Karma Kids Yoga. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance and kids will be encouraged to take part in egg decorating and games, make a boat with the Brooklyn Navy Yard, ride Jane’s Carousel, and make solar powered bracelets.

The traditional Easter egg hunt — an often chaotic affair — has been replaced with activities like an egg roll (where kids roll eggs down the grass with spoons), duck races and an egg toss, said Alison Hughes, Director of Programming.

Activities are sponsored by NY Transit Museum, Metro Soccer NY, Jacques Torres, Inventgenuity Workshops, Jane’s Carousel, Karma Kids Yoga, and Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at BLDG 92.

The event takes place in the Empire Fulton Ferry section of Brooklyn Bridge Park.
