Take a ‘Haunted Halloween Walk’ in park

Kids who visit Owl’s Head Park in Bay Ridge on Halloween will be greeted by ghosts, witches, and ghouls jumping out of the bushes. But don’t worry. They’re friendly!

The park, located at Colonial Road and 68th Street, will be the setting for the 17th Annual Haunted Halloween Walk sponsored by state Sen. Marty Golden (R-Bay Ridge-southern Brooklyn), the Shore Road Parks Conservancy, and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

The Haunted Halloween Walk will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The event will feature a Haunted Walk, a Fairytale Forest, a pumpkin patch, an apple orchard, a coloring contest and a costume contest. There will also be rides for children, pony rides, face painting, sand art, a Trackless Train Ride, “The Batmobile” and Dracula’s Food Court.

“The Haunted Halloween Walk and Fairytale Forest is a great community event that attracts thousands as a safe alternative to trick or treating. I look forward to sponsoring another special day full of fun, ghosts, goblins, tricks and treats for the children and families of our neighborhood.  So get your costume on and head down to Owl’s Head Park on October 31,” Golden said.

Organizers said a suggested donation of $1.00 will help to support the event. Food and beverages will be sold at the event. For a purchase of $5.00, V.I.P. passes are available that will admit one adult and up to five children at the V.I.P. entrances.  Passes can be purchased at five Bay Ridge locations, including Circles Restaurant at 6901 Third Ave., Boragi Florist at7613 Third Ave., Kaleidoscope Toys at 8722 Third Ave., Heart To Heart at 9004 Third Ave. and the Bay Ridge Mail Station at 9728 Third Ave.
