On Tuesday, more than 600 students, parents and others laced up their ice skates to take a whirl around Coney Island’s Abe Stark Skating Rink, celebrating a free day of skating. The event, sponsored by Councilman Domenic Recchia for the past five years, has become a staple of winter activity in Coney Island.
