FORT GREENE — City Council Member Letitia James wants everyone to know that Tillie’s, a Fort Greene/Clinton Hill staple that has been serving coffee and art for 14 years, is closing.

All friends and customers who want to buy a small part of Tillie’s are welcome to stop by

“I was sad to learn as of Jan. 1, co-owners Patricia Mulcahy and Amos Yogev closed the doors of Tillie’s due to a rent increase; they are now in the final stages of selling everything inside of the restaurant,” said James. “The shop was also known as a supporter of the local arts community and a performance space for students, artists and writers.

Tillie’s will be missed.”

Tillie’s is at 248 DeKalb Ave. at Vanderbilt Avenue.
