He is the most notorious athlete in American history. The undisputed heavyweight boxing champion of the world, Tyson was the first and the youngest fighter to hold all three major boxing titles at the same time. But personal controversy often overshadowed his amazing accomplishments in the ring. Now, with writing collaborator Larry Sloman, Mike Tyson shares the “Undisputed Truth,” an unvarnished, first-person, surprisingly humble blow-by-blow account of the forces that made him the world’s greatest fighter and shaped a tumultuous and truly transfixing life.  From his childhood in Brownsville, Brooklyn, to his discovery by legendary trainer Cus D’Amato in his teens, to the creation of his Iron Mike persona and the victories and scandals that followed, “Undisputed Truth” is a raw and self-deprecating picture of a man who has confronted countless monsters in the hope of not becoming one himself.

Fort Greene’s Greenlight Bookstore is bringing Tyson to Brooklyn on Friday, Dec. 13, to sign copies of his book at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation. Greenlight Bookstore will offer books for sale at a discounted price, in honor of the fighter’s return to his hometown.

The Dec. 13 event will take place from 6 – 9 p.m. Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation is located at 1368 Fulton Street in Brooklyn.  Admission to the signing is free.  Mike Tyson will sign unlimited copies of Undisputed Truth, but cannot personalize copies and cannot sign other items.  Photography is permitted, but Tyson cannot pose with fans for photos.
