Assemblyman Dov Hikind is praising police officers at the 66th Precinct in Brooklyn for their help in recovering a stolen Torah worth $30,000.

The Torah was inside a Toyota Corolla that had been reported stolen Saturday evening near a synagogue on 18th Avenue in Borough Park.

Hikind says the car was later found abandoned on East 10th Street sometime on Monday with the Torah still inside. He says a tip from an unidentified person led police to the car.

Hikind had earlier offered a $3,000 reward for any information leading to the return of the Torah.
