A bizarre artistic coincidence on the sidewalk in front of Saint Ann’s School was noticed by the McBrooklyn blog on Tuesday — a child had randomly produced, in chalk, the classic “troll face” Internet meme.
According to knowyourmeme.com, the troll face, with its large mischievous grin, is meant to portray the expression someone makes while trolling. (A troll is someone who posts irritating or harassing messages on an online forum or blog to get a rise out of other commenters.)
The young artist who drew this particular troll face was probably not trying to be provocative — just artistic. But then again, that could be exactly what the young “artist” wants us to think.
