Dozens of people filled the 25th floor conference room in the new Kings County Supreme Court on Jay Street, yesterday, for a multi-media presentation that traced the history of slavery in Dutch New Amsterdam, as well as British and American New York. Slavery in New York State officially ended in 1827.
“The most ambitious exhibition ever assembled on the subject of slavery in New York†has been extended through March 26 at the New York Historical Society. There is a 20 percent discount for those with official court identification.
