Brooklyn members of the Needlework Guild of America pack the Flatbush Reformed Dutch Church in this 1916 photo. The guild provided new clothing for the sick and suffering of WWI, though the U.S. had not yet entered the war at the time this photo was taken. The Flatbush Dutch Reformed Church is the oldest site in continuous use as a house of worship in New York City. The original edifice was built in 1662. The one pictured above, which still stands, was built in 1793.
