Bed-Stuy, Red Hook, To Be Included on Route
BROOKLYN â FreshDirect, the popular online gourmet grocer and prepared food purveyor, recently announced plans to extend its delivery services to reach the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Bedford-Stuyvesant (âBed Stuyâ), Crown Heights, Red Hook and more.
These neighborhoods add to a growing number of Brooklyn and other New York-area communities currently serviced by FreshDirect.
In support of FreshDirect's expansion, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz was on hand to welcome a delivery in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
âOur borough is known for its big Brooklyn appetites, and there can never be too many options when it comes to satisfying our culinary cravings. Those who love to eat but are always rushed â both the good cooks and those âfoodiesâ who, like me, never attained that skill and head straight for the tasty prepared foods, are thrilled that Fresh Direct is catering to underserved neighborhoods, which benefit from the availability of more quality, healthy foods,â said Marty Markowitz.
Founded in 1999, FreshDirect is one of the nationâs leading online meals and fresh food manufacturing and delivery services. The company is expanding rapidly and currently serves most of Manhattan and locations in Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and the Bronx, as well as parts of New Jersey, Westchester, and Nassau County.
