Based on the idea that a secret tunnel connects London to Brooklyn’s Fulton Ferry Landing, artist/inventor Paul St. George has installed his amazing Telectroscope at both ends -- just in time for the 125th birthday celebration of the Brooklyn Bridge. The mock-19th century device allows people to see “right through the Earth” from London to New York, and vice versa. Thursday spectators waved, wrote messages on white boards, and played the first transatlantic game of tic-tac-toe with their fellows on the other side of the world. (Those requesting business meetings or trying to arrange marriage proposals will be fast-tracked to the head of the queue.) The Telectroscope will be in place until June 15.
