“Sponge Park” has nothing to do with the TV character SpongeBob – rather, it’s the name given to a proposal for an urban park that would use water remediation strategies to reduce storm water runoff into the Gowanus Canal. The Boerum Hill Association, at its meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Belarusian Church (Atlantic Avenue and Bond Street), will hear a presentation from landscape architect Susannah Drake on the “Sponge Park,” which is expected to result in a cleaner and more pleasant environment along the canal.
