Financial Exec, Priest To Be Honored
NAVY YARD -- Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens’ POP Development Corp. will honor David Reznick, chairman of the Reznick Group, and Msgr. Raymond W. Kutner, pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church, at the 2009 Bishop’s Testimonial Dinner on Monday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. at Stage 6, Steiner Studios, Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Reznick will receive the 2009 Progress of Peoples Achievement Award for outstanding leadership and commitment to affordable housing and community development.
Reznick works closely with developers, lending institutions, and managing agents throughout the United States and Puerto Rico on all aspects of residential and commercial developments and is often consulted on tax analysis and structuring of major real estate syndications. He frequently advises policy makers on affordable housing policy issues.
Reznick has testified before the House of Representatives’ Subcommitee on Housing and Community Opportunity and presented his recommendations on restructuring the Section 8 portfolio of FHA-insured mortgages. He remains actively involved in assisting clients with methods of preserving existing affordable housing stock.
Msgr. Kutner will receive the 2009 Ubi Caritas Deus Ibi Award for his support of human services. He serves as a diocesan judge on the tribunal of the Diocese of Brooklyn, while remaining pastor of Blessed Sacrament in Jackson Heights.
A native of Brooklyn, Msgr. Kutner has served as pastor of Brooklyn parishes St. Malachy Church and St. Mary Star of the Sea Church.
