Good morning. Today is the 209th day of they year. It is the birth anniversary (1901) of Rudy Vallee, saxophone player, singer and radio idol during the late 1920s and 1930s. Vallee used a megaphone to amplify his voice and began each radio show with the salutation, “Heigh-ho, everybody!” Later on, in the 1960s, he appeared in the famous motion picture How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
Other well-known people who were born today include actor Darryl Hickman, actress Sally Struthers (“All in the Family”), former U.S. senator and Hall of Fame basketball player Bill Bradley and cartoonist Jim Davis (“Garfield”).
