PUBLIC HEARING on the Gowanus Canal.
The Environmental Protection Agency tonight is holding a public information meeting about the Gowanus Canal.
It will take place between 7 and 9 p.m. in the auditorium of P.S. 32, 317 Hoyt St. between Union and President streets.
The meeting will feature a formal presentation followed by a question-and-answer period.

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP at New York Methodist.
This time of year can be especially difficult when you are missing a loved one.
New York Methodist Hospital offers a free Bereavement Support Group. This month the group will meet today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A licensed clinical social worker will facilitate the group.
The meeting will take place in Buckley 820, 506 Sixth St., Park Slope.

MARKOWITZ TO HOST Coat Drive.
Tomorrow, Borough President Marty Markowitz, the New York Aquarium and HealthPlus will call on all Brooklynites to donate coats to the 21st annual New York Cares Coat Drive.
New York Cares collects nearly 70,000 gently-used winter coats each December and distributes them to thousands of men, women and children in need.
A ceremony will take place at noon today at Borough Hall.
Coats can be dropped off at Borough Hall, the New York Aquarium and collection sites throughout the borough through Dec. 31.
