Bridge Apothecary Opens

DUMBO â If all neighborhoods have a few secrets and weak points, one of DUMBOâs can now be told: itâs got a great park with harbor views; some great places to eat and drink (Superfine, Water Street Restaurant, Peteâs Waterfront, ReBar); grocery markets; some spots to sip coffee and tea, the usual suspects for banking, some boutiques, childrenâs stores, music and books, a boxing gym, and yes, itâs own subway stop.
However, for the darndest time, its citizens have been clamoring for a pharmacy, and preferably not of the chain variety, but an independent place to get their medical and prescribed necessities, and other sundry items.
With the opening of the family owned and operated Bridge Apothecary, at the base of the new J Condo Building, DUMBO just got stronger (and healthier).
As a pharmacy, Bridge Apothecary promises that âyour health is our most important department.â Christos (Chris) Tsioros, BS Pharm, R.Ph is your pharmacist and day-to-day store manger, excited to lead a team of professionals focused on excellent customer health.
They will offer patient consultations on medications they dispense regarding proper usage, when to take, what to eat or not eat, and drug-to-drug interactions. They are constantly keeping up on the latest drug and pharmaceutical news, and taking continuous education classes via NY State so they can better server DUMBO-ites.
Reflecting a hard-working neighborhood, and unrestrained by any distant corporate office, the owners plan on taking customer service to new levels. By appointment, they will bring a certified âsurgical-fitterâ to you to accommodate any orthopedic or chiropractic need (like a cast for a busted foot). They will also provide complimentary pick-up and delivery service for all prescriptions so you donât have to wait or change your schedule. And of course, they will be open all 365 days of the year, and they offer a 24-hr emergency line to one of their pharmacists: 1-866-92-DUMBO.
And besides making DUMBO healthier, they also look to make us more productive by offering products and services that were previously unavailable in one central place. You need a copier and fax service and stamps at cost? They have them. Do you need mailing and craft supplies? What about educational toys and books for children of all ages? And greetings cards made from recycled materials? Theyâve got them all.
And youâll also find hair-care products and make-up, household products and appliances from hairdryers to toasters, and even those inventive âAs Seen on TVâ promotions; Socks, pantyhose, gift candy and chocolates and all the pet food and supplies you need.
And they made sure the aisles are wide for strollers as they stocked up on diapers and other infant needs. And, they have a full selection of magazinesâfinally, a first for DUMBO.
Of course, Bridge Apothecary has a lot more than this, and if they donât have it, be certain to mention it to Christos, and he will make it appear. For this mom and pop store, the focus is on the customersâ health, keeping the prices low, and service, service, service. Welcome to DUMBO, and congratulations!
