ADAMS STREET — A woman was arrested this week on charges of repeatedly harassing and threatening Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Jeffrey Sunshine, who was presiding over her divorce case.
Sunshine filed a complaint against the litigant, Cheryl Uzamere, who called the Inspector General’s Office of New York County and allegedly threatened to put on a disguise and shoot Hon. Sunshine in the head, according to the New York Law Journal. Uzamere also left 10 voice messages and sent 3 faxes to Justice Sunshine’s chambers, vowing that he “would pay,” according to the complaint.
One fax ends, “Once I penetrate the skin that lies between my fangs and your carotid, I do not let go. This battle is to the death.”
It was sent to several recipients, such as President Barack Obama and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. Many of these documents were posted on Uzamere’s web site where she verbally attacks other Brooklyn judges and lawyers.
Uzamere’s complaints about the judge are apparently all related to her ongoing child-support and divorce case with Nigerian senator Ehigie Edobor Uzamere
She turned herself in on Tuesday and was sent for psychiatric observation.
