Borough President Marty Markowitz (forefront) Monday endorsed Brooklyn City Councilman Bill de Blasio (D-Carroll Gardens/Park Slope/Kensington), standing next to him, for public advocate. Among de Blasio’s rivals for the post are former public advocate Mark Green and former New York Civil Liberties Union president Norman Siegel. When appearing with de Blasio, Markowitz often jokes about the difference between their heights, but it’s all in fun.
