Demolition of the massive vacant Cold Storage Warehouse on the upland of Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 1 is underway, with salvaging of bricks, lumber and other usable material for recycling into ongoing park construction. The park’s design calls for a low-rise hotel and limited housing on the cleared site.
