BUSHWICK — An art show featuring works by local Brooklyn artists and titled “SmART,” helped kick off sales at a Bushwick condominium development last weekend.

The new four-story eight-unit building at 326 Melrose St., between Knickerbocker and Wilson avenues, took advantage of what some are calling the “burgeoning arts communities” in two neighborhoods, Bushwick and East Williamsburg.

Boerum Hill 8-Family on Market at $1.8 Million

BOERUM HILL — An eight-family apartment building in Boerum Hill is on the market with an asking price of $1,780,547, Massey Knakal Realty Services Brooklyn reports.

The four-story building at 411 State Street, between Bond and Nevins streets, contains approximately 7,020 square feet and sits on a 25.5-foot by 100-foot lot, according to Stephen Palmese, first vice president of sales for Massey Knakal, who has the exclusive.

COBBLE HILL – Pop-jazz singer and songwriter Norah Jones may have won five Grammys, but her brownstone renovation project may not be that popular in Cobble Hill, at least among some civic leaders and residents.

De Blasio Credits Council for Recent Downzoning of Carroll Gardens

CARROLL GARDENS — City Council Member Bill de Blasio reports that the city’s Department of Buildings (DOB) will require a development project at 333 Carroll St. in Carroll Gardens to reduce its height.

FLATBUSH — In its second round of awarding federal stimulus dollars for constructing affordable housing citywide, the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) has announced funding for 600 units in 10 additional developments for a total of $28.7 million — including one in Brooklyn.

GREENPOINT — Developers of the Locale Condos in Greenpoint, who had decided to try an auction when sales weren’t moving, report that five condos sold at the auction last week in Downtown Brooklyn.

The Nov. 11 auction, conducted by Sheldon Good & Company at the Brooklyn Marriott, was the first such auction in the city in well over a decade, the developer, TreeTop Development, said.
