Kreth Communications, a Manhattan-based public relations firm that specializes in providing services to the real estate industry, reports it has formed a partnership with West New York Pictures to offer video production services to realtors for placement on Youtube.
“Video tours of real estate listings have become more prevalent in the industry, as current technology allows anyone to host videos online,” said Kelly Kreth, president of Kreth Communications. “Commercial properties and new development projects also can be highlighted using this technology.”
The partnership will be the first foray into the real estate industry for West New York Pictures, an independent film and video production company. Co-founders Frank Arostegui and Rob Meyer have previously produced independent films and documentaries. Arostegui is a graduate of Vassar Film School and has worked in editing at CBS. Meyer is also a teacher of film and video production. The production company recently won third prize at the Black Maria Film Festival for the documentary short “Bergenline.”
“Real estate videos are in a primitive state now,” said Arostegui. “Most examples out there are little more than the never-ending handheld shot. It’s not the best footage, and there’s no personality behind the camera. West New York Pictures looks at these videos as opportunities to make short movies that are more than just a tour. We want to give customers a feeling of what it would be like to makes these spaces their new home.”
The two firms’ first joint effort was for a luxury apartment that was so unique that a description couldn’t do it justice.
“Clients had to see it,” said Kreth. “We got a camera crew, and the agent and I walked through and highlighted all its unique features, and then we put the video on Youtube. A buyer saw the video and bought the apartment the first day it was on the market.”
Next, the partnership did a Youtube presentation for a new development in Brooklyn.
“Our second project was to do a Youtube presentation for Century 21 NY Metro for the new development they were marketing as an exclusive,” she said, adding that the project is at 196 Scholes St. in East Williamsburg, a brand new eight-unit building with one-, two- and three-bedroom loft style units.
Cost of the videos depends on the scope of the project, but generally run well under $1,000 per video, according to Kreth.
