Looking to Avoid Manhattan
Hotel construction continues in Downtown Brooklyn, particularly along Duffield Street, between Willoughby Street and the Fulton Mall. The Sheraton grows skyward (first photo), and the steel uprights for the foundation of its adjoining Aloft Hotel have been put in place. A project of The Lam Group, with design by Gene Kaufman Architects, the Sheraton will have 300 rooms, the Aloft will have 180 rooms. Across the street, demolition appears to be almost completed for the Hotel Indigo (second photo), a project of V3 Hotels. Designed by Karl Fischer Architects, it will have 164 rooms on 24 floors.
