The Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) will hold a free workshop for entrepreneurs on credit card and other transactions on Thursday, Nov. 13, in Downtown Brooklyn.
The workshop, titled “Setting Up and Understanding Merchant Accounts,” will cover what an entrepreneur needs to know about accepting major credit cards and bank ATM debit cards and other direct merchant account transactions.
Attendees will learn how much they’re really paying for these merchant account transactions and will come away understanding merchant account rates.
An experienced merchant account manager will uncover the secrets of saving money on processing costs, how to eliminate duplicate data entry, and how to reduce the cost of manual labor and improve customer service.
The BEDC is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1979 to stimulate economic growth in Brooklyn. It is providing this workshop in partnership with the New York City College of Technology (City Tech) Small Business Development Center and Capital One Bank.
It will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at Capital One Bank, 33-45 Fulton St.
The workshop is free, but registration is required. To register, please call (718) 522-4600, ext 35, or e-mail RAstorga@cityTech.cuny.edu.
