Police Still Investigating Hicks Street Stabbing Death
by Brooklyn Eagle (edit@brooklyneagle.net), published online 08-05-2008

The identity of the man found dead in his apartment at 166 Hicks Street between Clark and Pierrpont has been confirmed by police as Graham Barnett.

Brooklyn Heights was struck by the news of a violent death when Hicks Street was cordoned off by police late yesterday afternoon. An intensive police response, with helicopters whirling overhead, indicated that the man’s death could be of violent and criminal nature. Little information was known at the time, although it was reported by several sources that a white man of 42 years of age had been found stabbed to death.

Today, the police have confirmed that Mr. Barnett was found with multiple stab wounds to his torso. Reports are still unclear but suicide has not been ruled out. According to multiple sources, criminality has not been determined. The police investigation is ongoing.

The Eagle sends condolences to neighbors and relatives.
