The young men of the Ditmas Park-based Bonnie Youth Organization, a Brooklyn youth baseball institution since 1949, are set to compete in the Cal Ripken July 4 Invitational Tournament in Aberdeen, Md., as well as the ECTB Nationals in Allentown, Pa. They also have to keep their grades up, and many have been admitted to some of the most selective middle schools in the borough. The organization is now raising funds to send the entire team and coaching staff on these trips, which would cost up to $12,000.
