GOVERNORS ISLAND Governing Body To Meet.
Today at 10 a.m., the board of directors of the Governors Island Preservation and Education Corporation (GIPEC) will meet.
Many Brooklyn residents feel that Governors Island should be legally part of Brooklyn, not Manhattan, because it is much closer to Brooklyn and at one time was connected to Brooklyn at low tide.
The meeting is open to the public for observation and comment. It will take place at 633 Third Ave., 37th floor conference room, Manhattan.
