CLINTON HILL — An 1853 Clinton Hill mansion and the carriage house that was built for it are on the market — in a slightly different form.
The carriage house has been divided into two side-by-side townhomes and the mansion has been converted into three condominiums, one per level. The architect is Baxt Ingui Architects; the owner is Washington Enterprises LLC.
The townhome carriage houses are at 244 and 246 Hall St., the mansion is at 275 Washington Ave., between Dekalb and Willoughby avenues.
The asking prices for the carriage houses are $860,000 for the two-bedroom, two-bath smaller unit and $1.25 million for the three-bedroom, 2.5-bath home, according to Ellen Gottlieb of Brooklyn Bridge Realty, who has the listings.
Besides “a handsome red brick facade,” they each come with parking garages and “private, lush green gardens,” she writes on her web page.
The Mansion
The mid-19th century mansion, which Gottlieb describes as being “in the heart of Clinton Hill’s historic Gold Coast district,” has also been transformed.
“Behind a stately exterior of neo-Grec proportions with mansard roof and arched dormers, old-world detail enhances the comfort of modern living,” Gottlieb writes.
The three units feature restored marble mantels, period molding, pier mirrors and wood-burning fireplaces, yet all have high-end appliances, marble bathrooms, central air conditioning, washers and dryers, and designer lighting. Asking Prices for the three-bedroom mansion units range from $915,000-$975,000.
