Bedell’s fashion store on Fulton Street near Hoyt ran a full page in The Brooklyn Eagle of November 2, 1924 to advertise “Stupendous savings on fashionable new apparel — provided to make Election Day a big winner for you!”
Furs from Bay seals, cocoa pony, American opossum, muskrat or marmot were priced at $125. They were trimmed with squirrel, skunk, brown fox, blue fox, or fitch [polecat]. To wear under the fur coat, street and party silk dresses would set madame back another $10.
